In May, The Humane Society of the United States published their annual Horrible Hundred puppy mill report. In 2020, Missouri leads the way with 30 dealers. Ohio comes in second with nine, up from eight in 2019. It’s hard to compare the breeders given the USDA restrictions that were in place in 2019. That said, there are repeat breeders. And it’s not good news that Ohio still has so many breeders on the 2020 report.
Other reports on the Horrible Hundred report include:
- State House News Bureau: Ohio Ranks Second in Number of Puppy Puppy Mills Identified in New Animal Welfare Report
- News 5 Cleveland: 9 Ohio puppy mills, brokers listed on Humane Society of the United States ‘Horrible Hundred’ list
Please be sure to help your family, friends, and co-workers understand the dangers of puppy mills, especially when looking to add a dog to their family.
